Neat! No thoughts on the election, but I can't wait to watch it. I've been spending a lot more time reading about the movements of world powers (China et al), the apparent decline of the USA, the power shifting in the Middle East and the ways in which shale oil is going to re-shape world energy politics..... No thoughts on the election, but I can’t wait to watch it. But he sounds like a good chap. Much approval. I remember that V/Line episode well - that was the same night I caught a bus from Southern Cross home because of the same issues. Actually, I was caught in both major episodes. Strange that I still refer to V/Line with the slash as some kind of nod of respect... a bit like referring to the office of the President as such despite how much you might not like the guy in the oval office. I'd love to find a train like that too. Hopefully the trans-siberian express is a bit like that (a journey I'd love to make one day...) It just brings that romanticism and whimsy back to travel, the way it was in the old days. Be on the look out for a bespectacled 40 year old nerdman complaining about the quality of his earphones, handing out Muesli Bars to small children. (He was on the Vline just recently when it stopped on the track til after 10pm, and in the paper the next day he was described as a "good samaritan" who gave a starving child his last muesli bar.
